zipp wheels
What are the best sets of wheels, Zipp Flashpoints or Mavic Carbone SL?

I just bought a Cervelo P2C TT / triathlon bike and am looking to buy a dish / Aero wheels. I like the Zipp wheels series 404 and 808, but I dare not let go of much of the change only for "the day of race "wheels. Zipp Flashpoints are a cheaper alternative, but asked if sustainability is the same as their conventional counterparts Zipp series. Mavic Carbones I also met told me that he can ride for training and racing is a necessity. I want a wheelset that aerodynamicly effective, but may be used in training rides. Suggestions?

I went with the Mavic wheel set.

What about the triathlete's training bible second edition of Joe Friel?

Compared with the first edition

More than likely some pictures and updates some updates to keep both. New system because there were many changes since the first edition. I saw a version with borders and look at the first edition if available. Sometimes a second edition will trigger people to go and buy it even if there are not many changes. He is best young

Cycling Training Plans

cycling training plans

It can be quite intimidating to sit down with the schedule of races and triathlon races to determine what really can add to your calendar triathlons that may be ready, without overtraining, and if you are running "too much" or "very little." Here are six simple steps to plan for the triathlon of the season.

Triathlon Race Season Step 1: Make a list and write down all the races he wants to do. Now choose the three races that are most important to you and dear to his heart. These three races will be their priority events. "Marking an A," top ", a star, or any other method you want differentiate. Choose careers that are "on the fence" in, and those who do B or "Medium" priority. Finally, choosing careers that just want do for fun, and check those with a C or a priority "low."

Step Season Triathlon Race 2: If your race is a sprint or Olympics, make sure you have planned a week before the race and the mark this week with "cone." If your career is half Ironman, sure his plan of 10-14 days before the race and score of 10-14 days with a cone. If your race is Ironman plan, 2-3 weeks before this race and make these weeks, like a candle. Do not expect other races during any period in the schedule marked "press."

Triathlon Stage Race Season 3: Counting back from the cone of 4 weeks after a sprint, 6 weeks of a grant, 8 weeks of a half triathlon IM or instant messaging. During these periods a week, plan one or two events in British Columbia to help you prepare mentally and physically for the event A.

Stage triathlon race season 4: 1 week before the account after a Sprint or Olympic race, two weeks after a week of the race a half Ironman, and 3 after an Ironman, and the brand These periods of "recovery." Do not wait for the races during recovery.

Triathlon racing season Stage 5: Take 11.5 weeks, with races for the week of the race cone B A week of recovery (s) – this period of time should be considered as a "block." Depending the duration of the season, and how their races are long, you may be able to fit 2.5 "blocks" throughout the triathlon season.

Stage Triathlon race of the season 6: Put in 8-12 weeks of the foundation "resistance" or "core" training led to this first block.

OK, ready for an example of a "Block 3" The triathlon season?

February-April: 8 weeks of basic training
Of April to mid May: Block 1-4 weeks developed with each Sprint Triathlon and Sprint Triathlon B + A + weeks cone recovery week
In mid-May to mid July: Block 2-6 weeks developed with Sprint Triathlon each B, C and Olympic triathlon an Olympic Triathlon weekly + weekly + cone recovery
In mid-July to mid October: Block 3-8 weeks to build Olympic triathlon with a B, two C Sprint triathlons and a Half Ironman triathlon two weeks + + 2 weeks of recovery cone

bike saddle road
road bike Saddle What do I get?

I'm looking for a chair of a new road bike. I do long trips. century rides. I make something beautiful and comfortable. Preferably, less than $ 175. How do I get a seat?

The reality is that everyone is different. No one can recommend a specific seat and make sure it works for you. He said the leather saddles Brooks are legendary among long distance cyclists (link 1) … but be broken to fit your bod (see link 2 for a section on this.) Until then, it is a hard leather hanger. That said, most bike shops recognize new problems and stool allow customers to try a saddle for a few days (as good, allowing you to exchange it for another model). Obviously, this only works in a shop that has a good selection of different types of saddles. In general, the stool becomes lighter than the price rises, not necessarily better built and more comfortable, so you should be able to get a good within your budget. I have found that long narrow saddles are better for road travel long distance (Brooks line is the Swallow.) You may want to try a Falcon and Terry (3 º link) or one of the Selle Italia Fizik and models (link 4e). But as I said, you can buy in a store that allows testing / exchange.

triathlon bicycle
What is a good bike for a beginner's intention to make an Olympic triathlon?

I am an avid runner who has decided try a triathlon in 2010. Besides having a Jamis mountain bike a few years ago, I'm a big newbie when it comes to bikes. What kind of bike is good for a triathlon? I have a trip of 35 miles to work on roads paved with asphalt hills. Therefore, I have the intention to use this bike to travel to attend my training. Please advise on good models, special features I should look for, etc.

You must go to the local bike shop and get everything ready for a bicycle. Here is a good bike route used in the appropriate size for practice. You can put aerobars on it for triathlon. You get into the sport without spending too much money. You should do a lot of training, there is much difference between travel and shopping, but you have an advantage. Find a local cycling club can join and participate in some races to see how. You can rely a lot on this site. http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/cms/article-detail.asp?articleid=271

why people use bikes Triathlon Triathlon?

from Triathlon include road racing, why not use a race road bike? if a triathlon bike that can go faster on the road, why do not people use them for road races?

People do not use bike road triathlons ….. very often. A real triathlon frame is very efficient, streamlined, and made to go fast in a straight line. Most of They are made from expensive lightweight materials with a tube of exotic designs …. quite expensive. The frame geometry is very nervous and did put the driver in a long-pending down aero position. These two things are not comfortable for most people (with the physical body triathletes in general as less-than-stellar often have.) Good for the operation of the registers, short-distance curves, hills and rare, but are not good for general road riding and racing for the factor comfort and risk curves.

How long will it take to train for an Ironman?

How long will it take to train for an Ironman? Once my goal in life is preferable to the Ironman Lanzarote. My physical condition is better left to cool. I started doing training for 10k hope to do a half marathon in September. grace of good advice for comments advice appreciated please no stupid comments, for example, its stupid to try. what u think so

You mean the time in months or how many hours per week? I am training for IM 2.1 August. I am currently training 6 days / 8 hours per week and ramp up 10 or 12 later this summer. The training plan instant messaging, a couple of hours, especially for long bike rides and runs. I have the intention devote at least 5 months training. If I were you I would review the proven training plans, rather than improvisation. Join a training group, get a car or find a training plan published. Ironman Training Plans

ironman training plans

Careers of its strengths, while forming their weaknesses works

Each breed has characteristics that are better suited to a particular type of athlete. This is important to keep in mind when planning your race season.

The good results in a race always brings a personal satisfaction. You see the dedication is worth it and be happy to continue the hard work that finally (after years of consistent training) takes you to your full potential as an athlete. At the same time, when the race is not going as planned, you feel frustrated when you do not understand why the event does not take place as planned, especially since you were so dedicated and disciplined with his training.

What athletes do not realize is that each race has features that are better suited to a particular type of athlete. A typical example is a mountain bike course, which creates an advantage for athletes with a higher power to weight ratio (ie, light and athletes relatively high) and for athletes with highly developed skills in decline. An athlete who meets these two criteria have an advantage in an athlete without any background on the hill climbing and descent. In extreme cases, take for example cycle Ironman France, the difference ranged from 20 to 40 minutes, because these two factors alone alone, assuming that the fitness levels of these two athletes are the same.

The advantage of these same two athletes as examples, and modify the route of a bike course is almost flat, with little technical sections, such as during Bike Ironman Florida. Now, it is likely that most athletes perform better. This is because when got into an aerodynamic position, most of the mass of the athlete is not exposed to wind, so that the aerodynamic drag of heavy athlete is only a small fraction over the resistance of even the lightest of the athletes, but the difference of the energy produced by them is very large, with a significant advantage for the greatest athlete.

But what does this have to do with the definition of a strategy to select the race calendar?

By choosing important races of the year, choosing those that best suit your profile and has the most chance of success. Consider factors such as swimming suit, sea or lake, bike paths wind, hills and bicycle races, drafting legal weather conditions or not, and the race distance.

Once you've set your calendar with these events, it is time to do the opposite: to choose careers that do not suit you, that you leave your comfort zone and force you to work on their weaknesses. Not only will you be a better athlete in general, but in the end be forced to run on a course or event you have chosen can not be otherwise national championships the world. With experience in various courses, which will reduce his disadvantage compared to other athletes who are more suited these conditions.

This approach also applies training. There is an important reason for working with a coach who need someone who can identify what is best for you. This is often the opposite of what happens to self-coach athletes usually prefer training as they want, not as they need.

It is very common to hear comments from the athletes claiming that its performance is much better during low-intensity training (and long distance races) than in shorter races or duration of training, high intensity. Then, when asked how often the high intensity unit, the answer is "almost never" because every workout is done in a slow and steady. It is therefore not surprising that there is a big difference in performance. In this case, the good news is that it is easy to identify when the athlete has to do.

Think about it the next time you feel a little intimidated to participate in a bike race or if you are an athlete short, do not be scared half Ironman race. Conversely, Ironman athletes usually avoid at all costs short races, but that develop skills and physical abilities to generate profits in their main event.

Enjoy your training!
