Bicycle Accessories

Why do I think a proper bicycle helmet as number one in the accessories necessary for safe mountain bike? The main reason I happens is that when a rider falls off, usually the only type of fatal injury is a blow to the head. Think about it, you can break all the bones and survive, but if you hit your head enough to break the skull, it is likely that you are in serious trouble. I will try to explain why a mountain bike helmet is required, benefits, some history and what they are made and how.
Let's start with the obvious, a bicycle helmet is designed to weaken the impact a fall on the head of the rider. The trick is to do while being light, airy, comfortable and not interfere with pilot vision. The ventilation is important because mountain biking is a strenuous activity, raising the temperature of your body and your head must be able to disperse heat.
Bike started as leather helmets and were used by professional cyclists. They actually offer no protection against impact, but are useful in preventing cuts and scrapes. Bicycle Helmets developed in the 1970s when a large number of adults took the hobby. Manufacturers began to make out of polystyrene foam of a fact of oil expands and hardens. It is very lightweight and can absorb impact. They were hard plastic coated on the outside to create the shell. They have now evolved a very thin shell that is included in the manufacturing process of the hull, allowing the air vents and large aerodynamic designs we see today.
When buying a mountain bike helmet or bike helmet, it is important to achieve the proper size. Many are adjustable but only to some extent. Some need to be adjusted using thin foam pads, while others are designed with Adjustable cribs. Bicycle helmets are made with straps, usually nylon and are adjustable to get the fit right. The perfect fit is when the bicycle helmet is the level of the pilot's head. The wing should sit about an inch above the eyebrows. The belt is designed to sit in the back of the lower jaw near the throat. It should be tight enough to keep the helmet in place but loose enough to get a finger underneath.
Well I think that covered it. Why we should wear bicycle helmets and why they are one of the accessories first mountain bike it should be. I also included a very brief history of how they have evolved and how they are made. I hope this is helpful. Now go and enjoy your favorite mountain bike route.
