Automatic Bicycle

How can you keep a cyclist with a car?
My partner, Kate and I have established a close friendship in recent years. I think she really has a fascination for trying to keep my car while on his bicycle. Well, driving a 2002 Honda Civic DX with a 1.7L, the engine power of 115 hp force and a 4-speed automatic transmission, which I think is a decent car. For example, we have a 12 (one way) miles of transport, that which is 24 miles round return. She often insists biking and running it against my car. I have exhausted just thinking about it. For this reason, usually take the road on the road (45 km areas / h on a relatively flat terrain) where there was little traffic. To avoid holidays, I accelerate very strongly, to about 4,000 rpm at the desired speed, which is about 40 to 45 mph. Do you have a chance to keep up with me?
She has no chance at all. The only way even a highly trained cyclists can follow a vehicle at a distance so if he or she can project on a flat road and keep your speed down. If you are not allowed to project, to be unable to hang with you. Here's why … Honda Civic weight around 2500 pounds and has 115 horsepower. That's about 0.046 horsepower per pound. If your friend weighs 100 pounds and can generate power (which would be a real achievement), which was 0.01 horses per pound. It's a huge difference! Now, of course, 115 to the power not all available and there are transmission losses, etc., but the gap remains large. Hope this helps.
